Toronto Small Claims Court – Calendly – Motions

The Small Claims Court in the Toronto Region is piloting Calendly as a tool for scheduling some hearings. Calendly makes the scheduling process more efficient by allowing parties to request a hearing date without having to obtain dates from the court office.

Starting October 1, 2024, representatives and parties should use this link to request a motion hearing date and time: https://calendly.com/toronto-smallclaims

The party or representative who requests the hearing date and time:

  • will receive an automated email explaining how to confirm the hearing; and
  • is responsible for forwarding all Calendly emails about the hearing to all other parties and representatives in the case.

A hearing requested in Calendly is not confirmed until court staff send an email stating that the hearing is confirmed.

The Calendly pages for each hearing type have important information about the process. Please read the information carefully.

Moving parties wishing to file their notice of motion and supporting affidavit (Form 15A) online, through Small Claims Court Submissions Online, must request a date in Calendly before filing. The Form 15A should be filed with:

  • a hearing date and time obtained through Calendly; and
  • proof of service.

Court staff may reject online motion filings where no date has been requested in Calendly.

Parties who file motion materials in-person or by mail are encouraged to use Calendly where possible, although not required.

For guidance on using Calendly, a guide for using the tool in Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court matters is available at: https://www.ontariocourts.ca/scj/notices-and-orders-covid-19/tip-sheet-counsel-selfrep/.
