As a result of the ascension of King Charles III to the throne, parties filing materials in criminal or civil appeals involving the Crown as a party should designate His Majesty the King rather than Her Majesty the Queen in their materials.
For ongoing appeals where the Crown is a party, the Court of Appeal will update the title of proceeding, substituting His Majesty the King for Her Majesty the Queen. This includes appeals that have been heard and the judgment is under reserve.
Parties are not required to file amended versions of documents already filed.
